California Baptist (7-1)ĬBU Events Center, Riverside, California Tuesday, 10 p.m. With this type of DVD player you can save yourself a lot of time and a lot of hard drive space, and Mulder, you could save yourself about $2000North Dakota (3-6) vs. Mulder is probably in a better position to comment on the different quality of say DVD Video, directly captured good quality avi's and Divx video formats. I'm assuming you can capture at different settings? Sounds like you could get good quality without doing anything else to it. I don't have a camcorder so can't comment on the quality of playing an 'as is' captured video file directly. Divx and Xvid is a good enough replacement for DVD video for me although I can still have DVD video if I want. Now, so far, if my computer can play it, so can my DVD player and they are cheap. CAB issues related can be attributed in most cases to corrupt, missing, or infected Nero 6 Suite files. I quickly learned that the bottleneck of all this process is the converting/encoding of one type of file to another. Or an even easier option which is the one I took, buy a DVD player that plays mpeg1/2/4/divx/xvid/avi's/DVD/VCD/SVCD/music/pics/anything I've thrown at it so far, directly. The illegal disc message and the smooth running in the log file up till then seems to point to the drive, but I am not the expert on their log files. My advice is that if you are reading about problems with firmware, then find out more before touching it. I am not familiar with that drive or any problems with firmware so wouldn't like to comment. Nero's versions and particularly their OEM versions are a minefield. I have updated since my last DVD burn though and have e-mailed them to clarify.Īnd that's about all I know. ![]() I have the full version for instance, cannot find that file, but am able to burn DVD. I am not convinced that their site's help is updated as often as it should be though. ![]() To check if you have the DVD codec, according to Nero, this file should be in your nero and/or nero vision express directories - DVDMPEG2Enc.dll This comes with the full versions of Nero, but there seem to have been many versions out there with OEM vendors especially able to pick what parts of the package they want installed relative to a price. You do need the DVD Codec installed to create DVD Video. The log seemed to indicate that the conversion went ok and the correct folders were created for DVD video.
